Portal Cirebon sendiri tak tahu sejak kapan Wa Caweng ini berjualan kue serabi, yang jelas sejak pertama kali berjualan serabi beliau mengaku selalu menggunakan cara-cara tradisional untuk menjaga rasa kue serabi-nya tetap gurih dan tak tertandingi. Dan memang, ketika Portal Cirebon mengamati mulai dari bahan-bahan seperti tepung beras, parutan kelapa yang membuat gurih, dan bumbu lainnya semuanya menggunakan bahan-bahan yang sangat alami dan diracik secara manual seperti proses mengulen tepung yang hanya menggunakan tangan, memarut kelapa hingga proses memanggang kue yang menggunakan tungku tanah (tembikar) dan kayu bakar. Satu-satunya yang menggunakan alat modern mungkin hanya ketika proses menepung beras yang menggunakan alat tepung mesin. Hal ini bisa dimaklumi sebab tenaga tua Wa Caweng memang sudah tak lagi memungkinkan untuk menumbuk beras menjadi tepung dengan lesung dan alu.

Jadi, jika Anda pada hari Selasa kebetulan sedang berada di wilayah perbatasan antara Cirebon - Majalengka dan menyukai makanan tradisional tak ada salahnya kalau Anda mampir sebentar ke Desa Cidenok Kecamatan Sumberjaya Kabupaten Majalengka ini untuk sekedar menikmati gurihnya kue serabi made in Wa Caweng ini. Industri Kerajinan Pandai Besi Desa Gaman

Selain sektor pertanian, Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan (Humbahas) juga memiliki potensi industri kecil dan kerajinan rumah tangga. Salah satunya adalah industri kerajinan pandai besi di Desa Gaman, Kecamatan Tarabintang. Industri kerajinan ini sudah berlangsung puluhan tahun secara turun temurun. Ketika datang dari arah Parlilitan menuju Tarabintang atau Pakkat, kita dapat melihat satu monumen kokoh yang khas. Monumen selamat datang dan selamat jalan di Desa Gaman ini menjadi ciri khas Gaman yang sudah terkenal puluhan tahun, Golok Gaman. Penduduk setempat memang umumnya bekerja sebagai pengrajin pandai besi dengan produk utama berupa golok dari berbagai tipe dan ukuran, lengkap dengan sarungnya. Golok berkualitas terbaik Gaman yang dipasarkan secara meluas ke kecamatan lain di Humbang Hasundutan adalah hasil kerja tangan-tangan trampil dari Desa Gaman, yang kerap disebut sebagai Desa Pandi Besi.

Sebelum Kecamatan Tarabintang mekar dari Kecamatan Parlilitan, Desa Gaman sebelumnya menjadi bagian dari Kecamatan Parlilitan. Secara geografis juga sangat dekat dengan wilayan Kecamatan Parlilitan. Seperti umumnya industri rumah tangga dan kerajinan ketrampilan desa lainnya, industri kerajinan pandai besi Desa Gaman masih menggunakan peralatan dan teknologi turun temurun yang relatif masih sederhana dengan nilai investasi yang juga relatif kecil. Golok hasil produksi masyarakat setempat, telah menjadikan Desa Gaman dikenal banyak orang.

Mulai tahun berapa Desa Gaman memulai industri kerajinan pandai besi ini?, berapa kapasitas produksi setiap bulan/tahunnya?. Berapa rumah tangga yang hingga kini menekuni profesi ini?. Belum diperoleh data yang pasti. Yang jelas, golok buatan Gaman sudah tidak lagi hanya dijual dan dikenal di Kecamatan Tarabintang atau Kecamatan Parlilitan dan Kecamatan Pakkat. Namun juga sudah sampai ke Medan bahkan Jakarta. Banyak juga orang Jakarta yang memesan oleh-oleh Golok Gaman, jika ada saudara atau kerabat yang pulang ke bona pasogit.

Dalam expo pembangunan Propoinsi Sumatara Utara di Jakarta akhir Oktober 2009 yang lalu, pengunjung juga dapat melihat dan membeli golok hasil produksi Desa Pandai Besi Gaman. Berbagai tipe dan ukuran golok buatan Gaman dapat dilihat dan dibeli pengunjung di stan Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan.

Golok Gaman memang sudah sangat terkenal dan menjadi andalan dan kebanggaan Sumatera Utara umumnya, dan Humbahas khususnya.

Industri Kerajinan Pandai Besi Desa Gaman
